Modern slavery is a grave human rights violation involving various forms of exploitation, such as forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, forced marriage, and child exploitation. It affects millions globally, with recent estimates suggesting over 40 million people are trapped in modern slavery.
Our commitment to the protection of human rights (including zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour practices, child labour and human trafficking) and our progress and ongoing activities are detailed in our Modern Slavery Statement, available on the Telix website here.
Our statement describes our:
- Organisational structure, operations and supply chain
- Focus on continuous improvement including ongoing assessment of modern slavery risks
- Process for conducting due diligence to identify, manage and mitigate modern slavery risks, and
- Methods for evaluating the effectiveness of our governance.
Our ongoing activities to align with our commitment include:
- Conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential modern slavery risks in our operations and supply chains
- Performing due diligence on new and existing suppliers, supported by AI platforms for comprehensive monitoring
- Engaging actively with suppliers to ensure compliance with ethical standards through our Supplier Code of Conduct and training programs
- Fostering a respectful environment and creating awareness by providing mandatory modern slavery training for all employees, including annual refreshers and targeted sessions for high-risk roles
- Establishing clear reporting mechanisms for grievances, including concerns related to modern slavery and addressing any substantiated claims promptly
- Regularly reviewing and enhancing our practices to ensure they remain effective and aligned with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and
- Monitoring for new or updated legislation to ensure adherence, including the 2018 Australian Modern Slavery Act, the 2024 Canadian Modern Slavery Act, and the 2010 Californian Transparency in Supply Chains Act.
Telix is dedicated to maintaining the highest ethical standards and integrity throughout our business, including acknowledging and embracing our responsibility to combat modern slavery and human rights issues or human trafficking in all their manifestations throughout our operations and supply chain. We encourage and expect all employees and business partners to uphold these values.
