Attack on Stroma – Targeting Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP) to destroy cancer’s defences
Cancer is a complex disease.
Its growth is influenced not only by the cancer cells themselves but by its surroundings, known as the tumour microenvironment (TME). Telix is exploring a theranostic approach focused on this part of the tumour by targeting fibroblast activation protein or FAP, a cell-surface protein present on stroma cells in virtually all solid tumour types. This prevalence makes FAP one of the most promising pan-cancer targets for both imaging and therapy.
