About the Role
We are looking for an accountant inspired by challenges to join the Finance team in Belgium (5 people in total) and support our Finance Director in our local and Group financial reporting. The goal is to maintain the accounting of all EMEA legal entities (Belgium, Switzerland, France, UK, and Germany). External accountants will take care of our annual accounts and tax returns of the non-Belgian companies.
This role is located in Belgium. You may work from home up to 2 days a week and are expected to be in the office 3 days a week, Liège or Seneffe.
About you
You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, as well as a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in accounting. A good knowledge and experience in BE GAAP, IFRS is a plus. Excellent excel knowledge. Experience in setting up a reporting tool (QlikView, Power BI, Tableau, …) is definitely a plus, also SAP B1 or experience with another ERP system. You are a French native or have a professional working proficiency in French (oral and written) with an excellent command of English.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to :
• Supervise general accounting functions such as accounts payable entries, review accounts receivable invoices for approval and check credit limits, review accruals and adjust where needed, review open PO list, …
• Coordinate closing activities
• Prepare financial statements as part of month-end close
• Follow-up of the investments and depreciation tables
• Perform and document internal controls
• Support VAT activities and declaration
